{the backstory}

Even though Rebecca and Matt were both from the same small town of Gasden, Alabama they met at the beach in Florida. They were both in high school at the time, but only dated briefly. According to Rebecca they didn't date long because he got her grounded 2 of the 3 times they went out, so she told him it wasn't going to work out and they should just be friends. Years later, when they started dating again, Matt would fly into Birmingham from Baltimore and they would drive straight down to the beach from the airport. Rebecca told us it gave them a chance to reconnect without "the pressure of everyone in town asking questions." It was their getaway from everything and it was where they fell in love.

Last October we filmed a "Save the Date" video for them almost entirely in Super 8mm. We tried to incorporate the things they like to do when they are vacationing at Seaside so their guests could get a feel for the resort. We loved having the opportunity to do this because it gave us the chance to really get to know them. We didn't use all the footage we shot that day, so we've worked some of it into this sneak peek to help tell their story.
